Often reported is the issue of trying to explain to people what the impacts of a condition or disability is like on a day to day basis and the frustration felt every time this has to be repeated when there is a change, such as new teacher/new manager/new environment.

Some people say they can suffer with embarrassment when asking for help/support.

Some are fearful of disclosing they have a condition because of fear they will be treated less favourably.

Some people say it’s the worry of being stigmatised when others make assumptions about their condition. assuming all Dyslexic people have problems with spelling, or assuming all Deaf people can automatically read English.

The Empowerment Passport makes sure there is no room for assumptions, stigma or embarrassment.
