Reaching out for support can be daunting for most of us at any time, but if you are used to knock backs it can feel harder to do. Issues like mental health, autism, dyslexia, and ADHD need care and understanding by the person and the people around them that want to help them thrive.
Our work with the NHS supporting their staff and Liverpool City Council’s Internship Program has shown that the Empowerment Passport can really help individuals feel confident in sharing their strengths and challenges with their internship/apprenticeship provider.
- NHS Employers told us, “67 per cent of participants believed that the passport could make it easier for them to disclose their health conditions or disabilities. “
Providing a seamless transition into the job can be a big boost to the new entrant. The necessary adjustments can be discussed and put in place ensuring the positive working environment suits the individual. This collaboration is a win-win for both the employer and the intern/apprentice.
We all want to succeed in life and using the Empowerment Passport means that when a person reaches out for support – we listen!
